This meetup group is for all Czechs and Slovaks in the DFW area. I've been living here for about 4 years and know that it is hard to find other Czechs/Slovaks to make friends with.
I'd like this group to be couples as well as singles friendly and prefer if we could speak Czech/Slovak most of the time, however, since some of us have only English speaking spouses or partners, we will need to speak English sometimes!
Since I saw that many interested people were from all parts of DFW, I'd like to make the activities in various locations and alternate. Suggestions from members for places to meet are highly appreciated!
I am new in organizing anything social so please forgive my mistakes, I will try my best. I also travel a lot so please forgive if there are delays in responding to your emails. I'd also appreciate assistant organizers for the same reasons, since I don't want the group to be idle while I am out of town.
Please participate in the polls so that the next event is organized according to your feedback!
Rules for this group:
1. Please do not cancel your attendance within 24 hours of a meetup, especially for meetups where reservations are made.
2. Please be welcoming to any new members. I know that some groups are not so good in making newcomers feel welcome and our group shouldn't be that way!
3. Please communicate! I'd appreciate ideas for meetups (since that's the only way how to make it for everybody and not just me), let me know if you cannot attend, etc...
4. Please post a picture of yourself into your profile (a family picture with you in it is also OK). The picture helps to recognize you at the events. Please do not post a sole photo of someone else or his/hers body parts as your main profile picture as it may be easily misinterpreted (you can do this as an additional picture in your profile, sometimes an explanation may be helpful as not everybody may understand what is going on or share your sense of humor).
